    The development of this exclusive complex was promoted by Joseph McMicking, a U.S. Colonel of Filipino descent. It was in 1962 when his nephews Jaime and Enrique Zobel acquired the land on which Sotogrande would be built, a green haven in the Guadiaro valley with a privileged location between Gibraltar and the emerging Costa del Sol.

    Prestigious builders took part in this ambitious project, which included the construction of high-end homes and quality facilities that respect the environment and the landscape, linked to sports activities such as golf and polo, among others, making Sotogrande a benchmark for sports tourism.
